Artist Shahzad Zar

Shahzad Zar started painting as a young child and was a self-taught artist until he approached Syed Ali Imam and started studying with one of the pioneers of modern art in Pakistan. His first one-man show was held at the venerable Indus Art Gallery in 1999. There has been no looking back for Shahzad Zar who since has exhibited and sold works all over the world. Zar’s modern calligraphies, brightly colored explorations of the female form, and works in multiple media are part of some of the most important collections of South Asian art in the world.
