Families filled the lakeside venue to participate in the second edition of the annual event. This year was also a huge achievement for the hospital with over 3,000 participants from all walks of life. The resounding success shows the public’s growing awareness of a healthy lifestyle as well as the commitment to the hospital’s cause.
Talking at the occasion, CEO of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Dr. Faisal Sultan said: “Events such as this festival where one can learn about a healthy lifestyle are very important for us as we seldom give attention to ourselves. Looking at this year’s participation, the hospital has planned on increasing the area for next year’s Fitness Fiesta so that there are more activities to increase people’s awareness about their health while having fun with friends and family.”
Titled ‘Fitness Fiesta in the Spirit of Giving’, it offered a range of attractions for people from all age groups including over 30 different organic food stalls by Khalis Food Market, a Fitness Corner by 180 Degrees and free health and nutritional consultations. The all day event also featured a Walkathon, Kids Corner and a Cricket tournament to celebrate the occasion. Lucky draws were held by the hour featuring prizes from Pepe Jeans Pakistan, Farah Talib Aziz, Saira Shakira, Saira Rizwan, Structure, Address, The Lounge, Pompei, Spice Bazaar and Yum.
Proceeds from the event went towards the treatment of cancer patients. For more information on how to donate, please visit: http://www.shaukatkhanum.org.pk/how-to-help.html.
