Following the launch of MARIA.B.’s pioneering Pashmina and Premium Luxury Linen 2014 collections, the designer label showcased a new collection of bridal wear on the opening day of Bridal Couture Week 2014. After the brand’s showcase at the bridal fashion platform, the collection will be available at MARIA.B.’s Bridal Studio located at 117-P Gulberg II, Lahore through custom orders.
MARIA.B.’s La Roseraie, which translates to the Rose Garden, was a dreamy, feminine collection inspired by 18th Century France. The collection was predominantly based in a colour palette consisting of pastels but also featured a selection of ensembles in monochrome shades. One observed luxe fabrics such as organza, nets and silks in elegant, European cuts and modern silhouettes comprising of long gowns, short shirts, skirts, crop tops, short body jackets and cigarette pants. The designer had employed the innovative use of digital prints, motifs and embellishments to impart a feeling of nostalgia and a vintage aesthetic to the collection. Renowned TV personalities Mawra Hocane and Urwa Hocane participated in the brand’s showcase as celebrity showstoppers.
Speaking about her brand’s collection at BCW 2014, Maria Butt, CEO MARIA.B. said, “Everything about our new collection has an element of nostalgia associated with it. While the collection itself is very feminine, there are dark gothic elements to some of the pieces, which synergise well with the other ensembles to come together as a story, which ultimately forms The Rose Garden. I am pleased to showcase the collection at BCW 2014 this year!”
